Despite not yet being officially confirmed, the new version of Windows - Windows 12 - is generating a lot of interest online. Many leaks and predictions have paved the pathway to a possibility of guessing what this new version may looks like. In this article I will take you through all ideas surrounding the new version of Windows and what we can expect going forward.

Despite not being a confirmed release date, many leakers and analytics have suggested the system will release in late 2026 or 2027. Despite these dates not being officially confirmed, we must not immediately assume they are fake.

With the codename 'Hudson Valley Next' (according to leakers) Windows 12 is predicted to focus heavly on artificial intelligence, especially on Window's Copilot AI. This AI is expected to come with smart automation and may be able to do the following:

Organise files
Save documents
Summarise searches
Perform contect aware searches

However, the usage of AI may stress the hardware, making the version unavailable on older software.

Secondly, there has been a lot of talks about a 'modular Core PC architechture'. What this means is the OS will be fragmented into smaller, updateable components and a smaller, trustable core, read‑only system partitions, and composable editions for each version of device.
